Tip 1: Start With the Obvious
Identify rows, columns, or 3×3 subsections that already have five or more numbers filled in. These sections offer fewer possibilities, making it easier to determine the missing digits logically. Analyze each empty cell by eliminating numbers already present in its corresponding row, column, and 3×3 grid. Often, you’ll discover cells with only one possible solution, simplifying the puzzle-solving process.

Tip 2: Use the Rule of Threes
Visually divide the grid into three larger horizontal rows and three vertical columns, each containing three 3×3 subsections. Within these sections, identify columns or subsections containing two occurrences of the same number. Because Sudoku rules dictate that each digit must appear exactly once per column, row, and subsection, the third occurrence of that number must be in the only remaining subsection or column. Analyze the empty cells within that subsection or column, and you’ll often pinpoint the exact location of the missing number.

Tip 3: Cross-Referencing
Practice cross-referencing rows and columns systematically. Look for cells that intersect rows and columns that already contain many filled digits. By cross-checking these intersecting lines, you can quickly eliminate impossible numbers, narrowing down the possibilities and identifying the correct digits more easily.
